The Nigerian has been left frustrated on the bench, with Chelsea’s boss Jose Mourinho opting to pair Cesc Fabregas and Nemanja Matic in the defensive midfield role.
Turkish side Besiktas are leading the race to sign the player according to MetroUk, with the President of the club admitting that they tried and failed to land the 28-year-old in the summer and that they would make another improved offer in the winter.
And according to the reliable Turkish website Calcio Mercato the London club are ready to cash-in on Mikel, who is one of Chelsea’s longest serving players.
