Having Low RPM in Your Google Adsense Earnings? This is How to Increase It

RPM is an abbreviation in your Google AdSense account which simply means the revenue you generated from your Adsense account per 1000 impression. The abbreviation for RPM is Revenue Per Mille. This record shows the average amount you earn from your website traffic per thousand impression.

Increase your google adsense RPM

The RPM of your account is calculated by dividing your Estimated earnings by the number of Page-views you get from your blog then multiplying it by 1000.

For example if you are getting 10,000 ad impression from your blog and you earn an average of $50 a day, then your RPM will be 50/10,000 * 1000 = 5. So your RPM will be $5. The formula for determining RPM is (Estimated earnings / number of ad impressions * 1000 = RPM).

On the other hand, you can use RPM to calculate how much you will be earning daily if you increase your traffic by any percent. Let say you increase your blog traffic by 70% and your blog now receive 17,000 ad impressions, your daily earnings will be; 17,000/1000 * 5 = $85 daily.

Note that, RPM does not in anyway increase your Adsense earnings but you can only use it to calculate a certain amount you would want to be earning per day if you increase your blog traffic to a certain amount as we explain in the example above. If you want to increase your RPM, then read the methods i used below. You will realize a positive result.

To increase your daily adsense earnings, you will first of all need to increase your RPM and the traffic to your blog too.

5. Place Ads Above the Fold:

The best position when placing ads on your blog is below article title. Adsense ads below post title on your blog and below article content seems to get more CTR which will also give you a higher RPM. But make sure to label it properly so as not to confuse it with your main article. Google frowns at ads below post titles that mimics your main article.

6. Drive Traffic to your Blog:

Now the most important method is to drive traffic to your site. Your source of traffic affects your RPM drastically. Make sure you drive quality traffic from search engines to your site or advertise your site and target countries like USA, UK, and Canada it will tremendously increase your RPM.
