A team of famous archaeologists and biblical
scholars have confirmed an enormous skull that was unearthed west of
Jerusalem is that of Goliath. They also say the stone embedded in its
forehead came from David’s slingshot!
The German archaeologist, Dr. Richard Martin, says the find proves that the battle between David and Goliath occurred just the way the Bible described it.
According to the Bible, Goliath stood
around three meters tall and lived in the 10th century BC in the ancient
city of Gath, which is now modern day Tell es-Safi.
It is one of the most enduring battles
in history: the story of a simple shepherd boy who slays a Philistine
giant and goes on to become king.
Dr. Martin and his assistants found the gigantic skull during a routine archaeological survey in the Valley of Elah, the location of the battle between David and Goliath.
Meanwhile, Team leader and biblical archaeologist Aaron Mayer from Israel’s Bar-Ilan University says that the short of finding his bronze Armour or a skull with a pebble-sized hole, historians may never prove that Goliath ever existed.
“The question is how much was the story exaggerated,” he said. “They haven’t found David and they haven’t found his Armour and they haven’t found Goliath or his head or anything of the sort.”
I DON'T BELIVE WHAT THIS GUYS ARE SAYING IN THIS PART
