Nigeria’s Obafemi Martins Sets New Goalscoring Record In America

Nigeria and Seattle Sounders forward, Obafemi Martins has set a new club record after scoring his fifth consecutive goal on Sunday night.
The goal was not enough to secure a win for his side, however, the 32nd minute strike against Sporting Kansas City Martins in the history books with Fredy Montero, as the only players to have netted in five straight games.

Obafemi Martins is the highest paid African Player in the money spinning American Major League Soccer league.
Having scored against against Portland Timbers, Toronto, San Jose Earthquakes, Vancouver Whitecaps and Sporting KC, the former Inter Milan hitman has been on a scoring spree since August 30.
If he scores in their next game against LA Galaxy on Monday, the ex-Wolfsburg star man would have scored in six straight games and set a new in the MLS.
He is also 4 goals shy of beating his single – season scoring record of 17 goals which he set in the 2014 campaign.
Obagoal, as he is fondly called by admirers, has also won his first major trophy with his club when they defeated Vancouver Whitecaps in 3-0 to win to clinch the Cascadia Cup 2015.
