Everything can now be possibly done online as it was offline. If you are looking for where to buy a fairly used car or even old cars from private owners instead of buying from car dealers, you can still find them online on websites which am about to reveal to you here.
And if you play your cards well, you could even be buying these used cars at much lower prices than if you were buying from a car dealer.
The Two major websites where you can get cheap used cars to buy from private owners includes:
1. Nairaland Auto Forum Session:
Nairaland is known to be one of the biggest forums in Nigeria where people come together to solve problems, help each other, advertise their products and share vital information. The forum has wide range of sessions and for the cars or auto session, you find folks talking about cars, automobiles, motorbikes, airplanes etc.
Buying and selling of cars are also done on the auto session. So if you want to buy cars from private owners, check the auto session.
2. OLX.com.ng Cars Session:
On olx.com.ng, you find so many fake and real people selling items there but you have to be careful when transacting with faceless people on OLX. Olx.com.ng has been one of the sites that are flooded with scammers who have nothing to sell but take you money and run away. That does not mean there are no real and sincere sellers there.
On the oxl.com.ng car session, you will find plenty of people selling both brand new cars and fairly used one at cheap prices. But please exercise caution when dealing with people there. Always remember that, any offer to good to be true might not be true. Meet with the seller face to face before giving your money out.
Note: You are under no obligation to send money to any seller before they send the car to you. If you contact any buyer and he/she insist you send some amount of money for part payment or fueling the car to be drove to your destination, just close the deal and never call them again. They are sign of scammers.
Must Do
You should insist on meeting with the buyer face to face, inspect the car you want to buy properly and make sure the papers are intact. I would advise you go with a road safety officer, police man, VIO or any force man that will help you know if the papers are real or fake. If the dealer is okay with that, then they are real otherwise they are trying to scam you. Try meeting the seller in public places and go without cash.
I hope this info is useful?
